Late Work
Late work (even one minute late) will receive a full letter grade deduction each day it is late. All assignments will be collected at the beginning of the hour. An assignment submitted even a minute late is still late, receiving the full letter grade deduction. If you are late to class, your assignment is considered late.

Any assignments printed during class are considered late. You will always have more than enough advance notice to get your papers printed before class. Intent to print a document just before class being thwarted by a malfunctioning printer does not justify your late work. An employer would not accept this excuse; neither will I.

Assignments will receive zero credit after being three days late. You will get credit for turning the assignment in, but it will count as a zero in your final grade. You must complete all of the major assignments for the class (even if for zero credit) in order to pass the class.

Formatting
In order that I can easily read your assignments, I have some guidelines for you to follow in formatting any paper. I will have to read 70 papers each time you have to write 1, so I will require that your papers adhere to the following guidelines:

use 8 ½" x 11" paper—you pretty much have to
minimum of 1" margins—I need some space to write you feedback
12 point font size—any smaller hurts my eyes; any larger looks like a billboard
Times New Roman font typeface—don't choose fonts that look like a Dr. Seuss book or a 1950's typewriter
not right justified—this makes reading the paper difficult
no dot-matrix papers—these printers have awful quality; I could write better in crayon

Keep in mind that most careers you might choose will have very specific guidelines for submitting work, so this is good practice. Any assignment that does not adhere to these guidelines (unless otherwise noted in the assignment sheet) will result in a penalty of a full letter grade.
