Group Presentations
Here is the Group Presentation Schedule.

Create an academic presentation that demonstrates analysis of a chosen topic for the class.

  • Analysis—in this presentation, you do not want to begin arguing about your topic, but show what the arguments are and analyze them. Presenting the arguments of the different sides of your issue is great, but be sure to show how Audience, Purpose, and Context affect these arguments and show how the arguments use Logos, Ethos, and Pathos.
  • Teaching—the goal of these presentations is for everyone to be able to learn something about analysis and the issues you choose. You should learn your topic and analyze it enough to be able to teach the rest of the class about the issues you examined within your topic. Ultimately, the effectiveness of your teaching of the aspects of analysis to your classmates will be the measure of success for your presentation.
  • Presentation—while this is an academic presentation, you are welcome to make your presentation creative, fun, and entertaining. Remember, however, that this is still a classroom, and your presentations must be appropriate for a classroom setting... I am trusting your judgment on "appropriate" for now, but realize that I will be the final judge in this issue, so anything I deem inappropriate will negatively affect your grade. If you honestly feel you are unsure about your presentation, you should probably at least ask me...

Like you did with your Tommy Boy analysis papers, you should show how the following exist within your topic:

Rhetorical SituationRhetorical Tools

Basically, your presentation should teach the class your analytical understanding of your topic. Show your classmates how people view your topic and why people believe what they do about your topic.

This presentation is due Tuesday, April 25th.
