- An extrovert has a source and direction of energy realization mainly in the external world ("recharges" better around other people).
- An introvert has a source of energy mainly in the internal world (prefers to be alone to "recharge").

Defines the method of information reception by a person:
- Sensing means that a person believes mainly in information he/she receives directly from the external world (solid facts).
- Intuition means that a person believes mainly in information he/she receives from the internal or imaginative world (gut feelings).

- Thinking means that a person makes a decision mainly according to logic.
