Writing for the World Wide Web
Client Website
Find a "real-world" client and develop or re-develop a website for them. This class dictates the construction of your client website somewhat, but your client will be your main source of information. Find out what they want included, how you can incorporate these things, who their users are, how these users should be accommodated, etc. You will want to start this project as soon as possible because we only have eight weeks total in which to complete this project. Once you design the website initially, you will want to talk to your client and see what feedback they have for you about the site. Be sure to leave yourself time for revisions of your client website.

Here are some examples of client websites I have created:

Here again are some links to various campus organizations and departments that may be willing to offer web work:

Rhetorical Analysis of Your Client Website
As in the other rhetorical analysis assignments, you will be writing a rhetorical analysis of the website—but this time, of your work. What factors led you to make certain visual design choices? How did you organize the website and construct navigation for the site? What types of programming did you use in the site (Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, etc.) and why? If at all, how did you incorporate images? etc., etc., etc.
